Any person with severe delay or deviancy in communication, social or emotional – development, needs developmental evaluation. The TEACCH method was developed by researchers who wanted a more effective and integrated approach to helping individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). TEACCH is an evidence-based academic program that is based on the idea that autistic individuals are visual learners, so teachers must correspondingly adapt their teaching style and intervention strategies. The TEACCH method, which stands for the Treatment and Education of Autistic and Communication Handicapped Children method, was specifically developed for children with autism spectrum disorder. TEACCH® (Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication handicapped CHildren) Autism Program developed the concept of the “Culture of Autism” as a way of thinking about the characteristic patterns of thinking and behavior seen in individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).
